I like many of its features, like you can rate book with stars, it has few library view options(show in bigger cover page or smaller cover page with authors name, other ebook reader apps Im using only has one option,it either shows only with a very small cover page which you cant really sees what it is or without the author name you have no option to sort it with authors name)...etc. but I will love it even more if it can add some more features like adding books via wifi (Im using Dropbox to add books now which I have to select book one by one to add it? And Im having difficulty using the Calibre), with an option to empty my library with one click, now I have to delete it one by one...basically I have to add or delete my books one by one ...it can be just because I dont know how to use the app.?!

Update

Dont see anything here about dealing with the problem of the corrupt backup/restore issue that has continued to plague this app when dealing with large libraries. Also, the last update was November of last year...one update in 9 months? This app needs a development team. FINALLY the app will read more than 1,000 books in Dropbox...thats been a long long time in coming.

Beautiful app

After spending several hours testing out all the ebook apps I could find, Marvin is the clear winner. Very configurable, easy to use and a beautiful looking app. I just wish it had rsvp speed reading capabilities as well!

Mixed Feelings

I have used this app for years, but after iOS 8.3 Marvin will no longer link to my Calibre Library app which makes it frustrating to you and manage my ebook libraries- especially in connection with Goodreads. I am so frustrated, I have been trying to find another solution.

No longer connects to caliber

Worked great until tried to connect after iOS 9 upgrade

Keep the updates coming.

Great reading app with a crazy amount of features, only one missing is pdf reader heres hoping for upcoming updates to have more features as well as any bug fixes other people may require. Also scrolling down to read pages would be awesome, along with a page turning animation, heres hoping

Flexible and intuitive

Great combination of features, love it on the mini for taking my library on the go. The "firelight" warm screen adjuster is a fantastic touch.

Cheap

When they say "Virtually unlimited combinations of colors, textures, etc," That means an actually very limited selection of canned themes, each of which is an additional in app purchase. No customization is possible.

Excellent epub reader

Very good ereader; use it daily and dropbox sync means I dont have to store all my books locally or worry about which device I was last reading on. Crashes when downloading more than one book from dropbox at a time, though.

Needs some work

Well, after Marvin stopped working with calibre, Ive had to just upload everything to my Dropbox account and import it. Not a big deal. Except that now, every time I try and import multiple books into Marvin, after the first book, the app crashes. So I now have to add books to my library. One. By. One. See how annoying that is to read? Just imagine how annoying it is to have to do.

Best ebook reader of IOs - Hands down

Just fantastic. All the best features of iBooks or Kindle without the locked down nature of those. The only downside is the lack of a linked store. however with a little basic googling youll be able to move all your existing kindle books across. Cant say enough good things about it. Oh - and since this is the Japanese iTunes store, it works fine with Japanese content - although it does not yet support vertical text - an epub3 feature.

Best ebook reader in 15 years

I have been reading on mobile devices since I got a Windows CE handheld device 15 years ago. Mainly during my commute, but increasingly at home (and even work!) I rely on a library of several thousand books for pleasure, study and research. The main requirements for a reader are appearence of the text, dictionary lookup and ease of maintenance of a library. On all counts, Marvin has no peer, on any device that I use or used, which includes most popular general purpose palmtop or mobile devices of the last decade and a half, as well as a few versions of specialized ebook readers. Marvin tops everything and makes it a pleasure to read.

So far so good!

Since getting this app I had great experience reading my books on iphone and ipad! Excellent design, full of usefull features and most importantly user-friendly))) maybe in the future we could see Iowan font and other nice fonts added;)

The best ereader app there is...

Easily the most visually appealing, fully featured, easy to use ereader there is for the iPad or iPhone. I especially like that you can manage metadata from within your iDevice, get deep information about the book, link to dropbox, and sync with calibre.

Boot up TOO SLOW

I purchased this to replace Stanza. But two HUGE problems: Unlike Stanza, Marvin will not let you download files that may have the same name, but actually have completely different content. Marvin cant recognize the metadata, and so you are forced to either do without, or else take the roundabout way through ITunes, which leads to the MAJOR problem: Marvin takes nearly a full TWO MINUTES to boot up. And because Marvin seems to shut down after less than 10 seconds of activity, I am constantly, constantly waiting for it to start up again! It is very frustrating to have to wait so bloody long for a reader app to boot up. I took a stopwatch and timed it: 1 minute and 45 seconds to boot up, and yet it shuts down so quickly. Please, developer, work on the boot up time! Or else, dont let it shut down so quickly, please!

Minor bug

Shuffle button not working (either shows open or added order. it depends which one was on previously.) Just a minor thing, but still...

The APP for readers!

I have tried many applications and platforms like readmill, kindle, etc but non of them gave me features I found in Marvin. Definitely best ebook platform manager and reader ever. Highly recommended!

Delighted

Well, more than my expectations. Could not manage to load through Calibri but no problem with DropBox.

Great app

I really liked your app its far best among all ebook readers and i bought it without a second thought but one thing is missing.Could you add realistic page flip animation like in the apples ibooks app if its possible ? I will change my rate to 5 stars then.Thanks.

The best ever epub reader for iOS

The best ever epub reader for iOS. If you in love with books, you need to try it. Especially great for reading with a dictionary, with search in Google (via Chrom or Safari) etc. Sync with Dropbox and other clouds. A wide range of settings to change the appearance (fonts, backgrounds, paragraphs, headers). Аnd more, and more. There is even the option to change the cover of the book, when the original cover sucks! Only a real bookworm could do it. We should agree with this. )
