Awesome ereader!

For those that know ereaders this is better than stanza (in my opinion). Awesome ereader, one of the best Ive used. Highly recommend this. Loads of updates. Hence not many current reviews, its hard to keep up with the number if updates and to keep coming back to leave a review. Kind of seems unfair to the developer. Afterdays

Best ereader app out there!

Ive been a Marvin user for a couple of years now. I came across it while searching for a replacement for Stanza and couldnt be happier. Great support from the developer and a robust customizable interface. I couldnt live without it, both on my iPhone and iPad mini. Dont hesitate - this one is worth it!

Wish it Would Sync Better

I really like this app. It is my ebook reader of choice when there is no DRM, but the sync setup is frustrating and the developer doesn’t seem to want to implement a proper solution. As it stands sync is thru dropbox which is fine however there is no automatic sync, so when you open the app you have to click sync. But it doesn’t then say you are already at the latest read page or offer to take you to the furthest read page when it is on another device. It basically just offers you a page number and will happily take you backwards which drives me crazy. This is important to me as I tend to read on my iPad in bed and my snatch reads on my iPhone when I am out and about.

Excellent

Definitely my favourite reading app. Was replacing readmill and looking for something else that would sync across devices. When combined with drop box and calibre it is perfect.

Best e-reader for iOS out there!

Nothing comes close to its formatting and customization options.

Best eBook reader for iOS.

Dropbox sync and calibre integration are both great.

Best iOS Reader app by far !!!

Love this app, works great, been using it for a year now. Best iOS reading app by far. Works well with calibre. Wish you could customize skins better. Overall A plus. Trying the new Gerty App, not used to it yet and still hooked on Marvin....

Needs an Update

This used to be my goto app for epubs, but since IOS8, the keyboard often disappears, synching is hit or miss, and page turns are blocky unless I close the app and reopen it. I dont have this issue with other book reading apps, so Im abandoning this app for awhile.

Best ebook reader for DRM free

Excellent Calibre integration, outstanding control of look (font, margins, spacing), smart gestures (flip back & forth by chapter/bookmark), and the killer feature for me: save/import annotations. Plus good integration w Dropbox (Gertys even better) and Evernote and adequate syncing. Best of all, I mentioned an iOS8 keyboard glitch and within a day there is a fix for it.

Outstanding tool that protects your investment

Ive used many readers over the years. This is the best out there for those wanting complete, easy to manage, control of their reading lets you keep, share, and manage your investment in notes highlights and bookmarks etc. that other readers discard or trap.

Simple and straightforward.

A great e-reader alternative if you like simplicity. One added plus is Dropbox integration. Very convenient.

Best e-book reader on the market!

Thanks for continuing updates! - November 2014 Ive had this app for a while, having grabbed it - free! - during some kind of promotion. I hadnt used it much until recently, after I had to return my Kobo for warranty replacement. My plan was to read books via Marvin on my iPad & iPhone while I wait -- but that plan is likely to change! I love this app so much, I am quite likely NOT going to buy another Kobo with the gift card that the warranty folks will be sending me -- Ill continue reading all my books with Marvin on my iOS devices. I could, of course, also read via iBooks: but Marvin completely blows it out of the water. Its massively more customizable and thus provides a much superior overall reading experience. I really like all the choices for background and text colour - Im still playing to figure out what I like best for daytime and for nighttime reading, as there are so many options! The extra dimming function is awesome for night-time reading. The developer website has lots of tutorials, and I urge new users to take a look through those: I picked up more than a few helpful hints. Also, the developer is very responsive on Twitter, and Im certain that if I need support for anything, it will be quick. I believe in supporting indie devs; and thus, Im going to purchase the Theme Pack for Marvin in order to offset having obtained this app when it was free. Its worth the $4.99 for the theme pack - in fact, its worth a whole lot more than that. If youre on the fence about Marvin: download the free version, which - I think - actually allows you to read only one book at a time, rather than having multiple books at various stages of completion. If you love it - and Im sure you will: spend the $ buy the premium version. You wont be sorry.

Go-to reading app

I highly recommend this reading app. Easy dictionary and option to go to web search useful. Sorting and searching for books are done in a useful way. I use both calibre and Dropbox to load books and like having the option. I like big font size and Marvin lets me adjust line and paragraph spacing so the text is still readable. There is a bug where the app will shut down the first time I open a book. iPhone 5, iOS 8.

great app!

Does almost everything I want in an ePub reader. Just wish it had the ability to scroll pages like its counterpart app, Gerty. And the bundle of themes was less costly. Perhaps a sale?

Great app!

Really worth buying. I am personally really into the light-warmth feature, and had almost given up hope of reading without the glaring blue screen (since there is no flux for iPad). Lo and behold, Marvin has that option. <3

Great App!

I really like location sync function.

Hit or Miss

Not as simple to connect with calibre as they would like you to think. If it work, it looks great but if it doesnt - be prepared to do hours of research and debugging until you finally give up on it :(

The best

I tried Kybook, which was also good but not nearly as polished as Marvin. Its brilliantly designed, and incredibly customizable. If you use Calibre, just use Dropbox for your files.

Need scrolling view!!

So many customizable features! Makes me happy. Only complaint is that it needs scrolling view!

Needs vertical scrolling view!!!!!

I originally gave it 4 Stars ( A Nice PDF Reader) was going to give it 5 Stars if they added Vertical scrolling. But.... changed it to 2 Stars Because I sent 2 letters to the developers and have Not got a Reply. too bad ... they were happy to take my money!
